Pass environment variables to Shutdown script

IntelliJ IDEA 10.5.2

I can't get the 'Pass environment variables' option on the 'Startup/Connection' tab in the 'Run/Debug Configurations' dialog to pass the variables to the specified Shutdown script.  They do get passed to the Startup script, though.  Is there a way to get this to work?  Am I doing something wrong?
