Or IDEA companion product. Please don't mess development with news aggregation and articles reading. Of course if you will rework help system like it in Eclipse you can add link there to such information resources, but not more, please.

Leaving comment spam aside, the main reason why comments aren't enabled directly on the blog is that I don't want to create yet another discussion place for our team members to monitor. Substantial questions or suggestions are best answered by the developer of the relevant feature, which is typically not me. :) The developers are already reading the newsgroups, and asking them to watch also the comments on other people's blogs is something of an extra burden.

I don't think comment spam is as big a problem as it once was. I don't think people will be posting large numbers of bug reports and feature requests as comments there. I think if you're trying to build excitement about the next release, allowing comments is a must, to allow people to express their excitement or maybe comments or questions. Most weblog software allows new comments to be sent to you by e-mail, so you could read them that way. ( I hope you'd read the comments on your own weblog anyway. :)
