Android: Any chance for visual GUI editor like Eclipse plugin?

Definitely not in IDEA 9. Not sure about later versions.

Is it planned to add a visual GUI editor for android GUI layout xml
files like the Eclipse plugin has?  That is the only reason left I
need Eclipse for Android development.  I use IntelliJ for most
development and then switch back to Eclipse for the XML GUI layout
editor only.

Please work on this. Android is in Java and Intellij is Java. Lets embrace Android to the fullest extent! So when can we have a UI designer support?

Right now we don't have any definite plans for that feature.

That's a shame, I'd like to see this too though I appreciate it's a lot of
work to implement.

I concur with the above writers, this would be a great feature and is the only thing right now that stops me from switching to IntelliJ instead of Eclipse for Android development. This would indeed be a great feature.

Eclipse is really a pain.
GUI for layout design is the only feature that makes me using it, not Idea.
Idea is much better then Eclipse in all bu visual layout design.

please, implement it.

at least just-in-time tool to draw a layouyt edited in xml.
if I were able edit layout xml and see it visualised - that would be greate too.
