Tech support incident offered to fix slow CR on MacOS X
Hi, JetBrains support,
(Publicly posted, so that if someone outside JetBrains has a reduction
of the problem and is willing to do the work, they know to send me an
email.)
You have said in the past that there is a MacOS X bug that is causing
hitting return while editing a large file to be slow in MacOS X. (This
is, I assume, different than the JSP issue.)
I have an Apple paid tech support incident that expires tomorrow. If
you guys are able and willing to file a bug at bugreport.apple.com
today, and then to craft an email to dts@apple.com describing the
problem, I am willing to donate the incident. This will get you a
response from a DTS engineer within the next couple of days, and
hopefully a workaround.
If not, I will use it for something else. Let me know.

CR performance has nothing special with OS X and (correct me if I wrong)
we never said that.
It's overall font rendering performance on OS X is par sub comparing to the
similar Windows machine but I doubt there could be easy workaround for.
So thanks for the offer but I'm affraid we're not ready to submit something
well explained and concrete enough to be fixed/worked around.

Ok - makes sense. It still might be worth sending Apple a shark
profile, but I can see how it might be a lot of work. I have found them
responsive to such bugs, but other people have had other experiences.
Fair enough. IDEA is important to my workflow, and I wanted to what I
could to make it work better on my platform.
