Native Compiled Intellij IDEA
Three months ago, we (at Excelsior) compiled IntelIiJ IDEA 9.0 Community Edition by Excelsior JET AOT compiler. Now, I just would like to announce that we have upgraded the build to 10.0.1 release at Excelsior JET Application Gallery.

Disclaimer: I am probably intervening into internal affairs of two companies and depriving sales people of their meal.
I must admit I haven't tried the Excelsior builds myself (partly because I am happy with the performance, partly because Ultimate edition is not available). If it is really that good, I think that it could be mutually beneficial for JetBrains and Excelsior to form a strategic partnership. Instead of promoting unofficial IDEA builds on IDEA forums, Excelsior could have provided JetBrains with a free yearly licence (instead of a hefty $3500 for a pro dual OS version). JetBrains could have then provided alternative official distributions of their products, thus promoting Excelsior. If it works out well and increases customer satisfaction, then it is a win-win for both companies.
But then again, sometimes ways of the big business may seem illogical to us humble peasants. I'll get my coat.
You may install this build on Win64, of course (it will work in 32-bit compatibility mode). As it was said in this topic, IDEA memory requirements are low enough to work in 32-bit mode.
Regarding 64-bit version of Excelsior JET in general, we are actively working on it now.
JetBrains has been offered.
Try harder pushing it :)
I'll be really interested to try out an Ultimate edition.
Should not be hard to integrate two products: both Excelsior JET and JetBrains have a "Jet" in their names.

Moreover, we both speak Russian.
Why is there no Mac version?
Once Oracle releases its Mac JDK version, we will start making our Mac version too (and IDEA Mac build as consequence).
