in my case it doesn't hang but it takes ages for idea to pass the initial step of "collecting data" when it reaches a breakpoint in debug mode. JFYI, I'm remote debugging against a JBoss server which was pretty fine in previous releases of Idea.
In my case, it hangs on JBoss as well. The previous Irida build worked just fine. After waiting on it for 5+ minutes, I gave up so I am not sure if its hanging or just collecting data excruciatingly slowly.
