Rechecked just now-- the email address is correct. I see after creating an issue that I'm not Watching it, so I always add a Watch to it manually. I've only recently added issues, but perhaps there is no need to Watch your own issues, that you get the equivalent of a Watch automatically?

Interesting. I guess that's the cue for JetBrains to clarify.

Default settings in JIRA is to update the reporter of an issue, so you're automatically "watching", you just don't have a "watch" on it.

yup yet another interface anomaly.
yes and no.
Jira is correct that you're not watching the issue. Its just that the notification scheme settings ( which are changable depending on the admins wishes, for different projects ) has a notification to the reporter.
So there different things, but it would be nicer to show some indication of notifications ( be it a watch, or due to notification schemes ).

Man I don't want to roll into yet another jira discussion. A simple change would be to unlink the watch for the owner and say you're the owner. It doesn't take that much.
So what else (apart from notifications) does watching an issue give one?
Best, Andrei

I seem to be getting e-mails on issues I create (I don't think I did
anything to cause that).
I wonder if you have a typo in the entered e-mail address or something
of the kind.

don't worry folks I won't post again about jira.

Hello Mark,
