Make the "JI" icon background transparent

Ok, this has been discussed to death already... but the white background in the "JI" icon stands up like a sore thumb if you user anything else than very light gray for your desktop.

Small tip: image icons for SmartCVS I prerender with a small
Java2d-program. This has the advantage, that when I change a color, I
just need to click the Run |> toolbar button to get a new set of icons...

I kind of understand the letter order change (JetBrains IntelliJ as there
are other JetBrains products now if I understand correctly), but I can't say
I like the icon in whole. It seems to be not on par with the rest of
IntelliJ graphics.

I don't suppose that someone with the Mac version would care to grab a
copy of the high resolution icon. I use large icons (well, pngs
actually) in ObjectDock on WinXP, and scaling the 32x32 icon really
looks sucky.

Please.

100 Aggree. The new icon is a solid as hell WHITE background, this does
not look good.

Wonderful, thank you.

I've attached a version with a transparent background for anyone who
needs it. And very nice it looks too :)

I think I've actually opened a SCR about this... how about JetBrains making a SVG version available for us to resize it as much as we want?

Excellent! Alexey, is this hand-painted or do you use special features
of a special application?

If somebody can create such 3D-effects in plain Java2D, I would be very
interested.

Very simple painting:

First, draw shape, that you want to paint as glass. You must draw it in gradient from dark to light color.

Second draw thin border with dard color from gradient.

Follow, draw white glimps border maller that darkest border and only by top - like light glipse on glass side effect.

Last step, draw white gradient to transparent from top left to center, and also small gradient from bottom right to center. Adjust alpha chanel of thiese gradients to 20%.

If you like i may pos Photoshop sources with layers and you can see how it to do :)

Thanks!

Because we do not have a Photoshop available, screenshots for each
layout would be fine. If you like, you can send it direct to me (idea
smartcvs com). Thanks in advance.
