version change to 4.5?

Just visited jetbrains site and I see new Idea version is planned to be released as 4.5 version.
Now I thought it was going to be 4.1 version, but anyway,
question is if this going to be free upgrade for 4.0 users (personal licence)?
thanks,
-j

This is also all covered in the press release if you read it. I guess the functionality and fixes are such that it warrents a more major build version than 4.1.

To me 4.5 is still a minor release, same as 4.1.
But I guess it convey better the idea that it is in the middle between 4.0 and 5.0 and that we should not expect a 4.2 ;)

Anyhow, does that mean that all plugins will have to be updated to tell IDEA they support 4.5 and not 4.1?

Mmmm, will I be able to upgrade my 3 licence to 4.5? Work upgraded to 4
but I was holding off my personal licence from being upgraded till I
could afford it, and maybe once 4.1 was out....

Jacques, 4.5 is still a minor release to me too however it simply seems more significant than a 4.1 release and like you said it indicates there will be no 4.2 release.

Mark, you should have upgraded during the Easter dicount special price when it was only $149. Now you will probably have to either pay full price or wait to upgrade until the next discount comes along whenever that'll be.
