I've been using this "trick" for years, and I use it all the time, every day, and every hour. I'm still surprised it's not mapped by default.
When in a normal class, it creates a temporary run configuration. When in a test case, it's smart enough to create it for the current class, or for just the current method, depending on the caret location.
I noticed it was gone, but I don't miss it. I hardly ever save a configuration but when I want to I still can with the "Select Run/Debug configuration" drop down menu. Decreasing the number of items in the context menu I like.
Personally I'm glad the "Create" item is gone. It was too cluttered. Why don't you think "Run" and "Debug" are good enough?

before I can change it's configuration.
