JetConnect... to what?
there hasn't been a new 'tips'n'tricks' for 11 months and there hasn't been a new "Intellij IDEA News" in 6... I would think the point releases would be good "news" candidates.
Is it just me?

It's not just you. JetConnect notifications could/would be really useful, but it seems to have been abandoned. I try to keep up with the latest EAP builds, and since no new messages ever appear, I just disable the plug-in now to save having to mark as 'read' a bunch of obsolete JetConnect messages every time.
Seems like a weird thing to abandon so quickly... It would be nice to hear from Jetbrains what they have in mind for this feature...
I think it would be cool to embrace it and extend it further... blog posts about IDEA from the community and developers... notifications about EAP and stable releases... even plugin updates for plugins I have installed...
Prime example - today I received an e-mail from JetBrains that the new v1.5 of JetGroovy Plugin has been released and is available. But nothing in JetConnect about it.
Unfortunately abandoned news features like this are all too common. I even experienced this form the other side via a web app I use to develop. The business folks wanted a news feature that would display news on the main portal page. A year later it got pulled out because it never got used after the first month (mostly because management never gave us the time to write an end-user friendly front-end to the database that fed it).
any response from intellij? is this feature dead or on hiatus?
