Coding Style : keep single method and block in one line is slow

What exactly is slow? Reformatting with those two options turned on?

Yes, I tried to turn them on and reformat a class, it was relatively
slow. I tried to remove those options and it was fast as usual.
When I say slow, it's not very slow , but about 4 or 5 secondes when I
turn it on, and 1 second when it's off.
I use a P4 1.8 with 512 MB
