Recommendations on issue/bug tracking software

I am looking at software to track issues for a couple of projects with 5 developers and would like to also be able to setup a web page for customers to browse issues.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

The best one is Jira, like the one Jetbrains use: http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/
Alternative open source one is Bugzilla: http://www.bugzilla.org/

Jira seems to be very impressive.

The only slight irritation is that they offer an OS license which is no use if you dual license your code. So we are actually at a disadvantage to pure commercial companies :(

We use http://trac.edgewall.org/ at work, coupled together with subversion. It's an open source product, and I've seen other projects use the same product as well. Trac is no where near as advanced as Jira, but it allows everything that you are looking for.

Will have a look.

Trac is not so easy to install and there are many issues it till it works right.

There's a shortcut however:
http://buildix.thoughtworks.com/

just follow the docs from there. It's the simplest possible way to install Trac I've found till yet.

It would be just cool if Jetbrains would release a similar package, but by replacing CC with
TeamCity :).

Ahmed.

We ended up going for Fogbugz and are very pleased with that.
