which application servers are and will be supported out of the box ?

You can use other servers using plugins (e.g. JBoss, Geronimo, Orion, Resign)
New IDEA EAP version also supports Weblogic9 and WebSphere

does it means that it can deploy web services without any hand made descriptor on those servers ?
specially geronimo ?

IDEA 6 will support WebSphere Application Server (versions 5.1 and 6.0) and
BEA WebLogic 9.x. These integrations are avaiable in EAP builds.
