Copy keyboard shortcut not working

Webstorm v. 9.01.  OS: OS/X 10.9.5.  I have the keyboard set to emacs.  I've added a keyboard shortcut to Main menu -> Edit -> Copy.  The keystroke that I used was <apple key> c.  This shows up properly.  I did the same for paste (<apple key> v).  But it doesn't work.  Nothing happens when I highlight text.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Did you try to restart the IDE?
Do you have any third-party plugins installed?
What's the exact IDE/JDk version (Help | About)?

Yes, I have restarted the IDE.  No, I don't have an third-party plugins installed.  The version of WebStorm is 9.0.1 Build WS-139.252.  JRE: 1.6.0_65-b14-462-11M4609 x86_64.
