The EAP licenses are updated, usually on the expiration day, until the product is released.

I'd love to buy a Idea 3.0 license. Where can you buy such a license? Does the 2.6 license work with 3.0? I have not seen anything that suggests that you can purchase a 3.0 license or use a 2.x license. Please tell me if I am wrong!

You can always get a 30day eval license, and use that.
