WebStorm in XFCE/Xmonad

I'm trying to run WebStorm in Debian with XFCE desktop environment and Xmonad window manager. However, after I create a new project, I get the attached screen (yes, it is all gray, no menus). When I close and reopen WebStorm, I get this screen again. Any advice?
