Very slow response when editing a text file

Hey guys-

This is something I've noticed for awhile now and I've been hoping it would get better with newer releases. I do quite a bit of plain-text file editing (actually markdown, but I open it as plain text since there's no markdown hilighting support). After having a plain text file open for awhile, the editor becomes increasingly slow. After editing a file for maybe 20-30 minutes, the editor can't keep up with my typing (type, wait, type, wait). I don't have problems with any other file types, and it does appear to get worse as the file gets longer.

Is this a known issue, and if not - what's the best way for me to submit disagnostic information so that it can be debugged by the PhpStorm team? And as a side question, are there any plans or markdown support?

Thanks!

Could you create an issue in the bts: http://youtrack.jetbrains.net/issues/WI ? Please take CPU snapshot by pressing the last tool bar button (Capture CPU Usage Data) before and then after long action and attach to issue.

Great thanks, the CPU button is what I was looking for (had been looking in the bottom right near the heap size meter).

I have same issue for WebStorm 8.  I am looking for solution/answer here around.  But it is interesting to find out that in this forum it seems always advise for uploading CPU snapshot since 2010 or earlier post.  Could not find a solution till today, May, 2014.

How long it would take for JetBrain guys to spend (so many years) and still doing analysis and still no clue?

I am still waiting for the solution.........
