2026 Entity EJB design problem
Although the datasource connection appears to work properly ( Test Connection button says is it okay ) I cannot specify the database table (no table name is displayed) to associate with the entity bean.
Is still under development or I missed something?

Yes, this was a known issue back then—entity bean wizards often couldn’t list tables even though the datasource tested fine. In our case, we had to manually specify the table name in the deployment descriptor. The GUI support simply wasn’t complete yet.
