Is it possible to change the size/thickness of the Caret?

Hi,

Apologies if this has been asked before. I have seached but couldn't find anything.

Is there a way to change the size/thickness of the caret? I can only find speed and turning block caret on/off in the settings.

I would prefer to have a 1px caret such as in Visual Studio. Is this possible?

Hi there,

  1. Help | Find Action...
  2. Search for registry action
  3. Once in Registry window -- look for editor.caret.width entry
  4. Set the new value (for me the default was 2) -- make sure that field went bold (move to another entry) to ensure that new value was accepted.
  5. Restart IDE (this option requires it)

I'd like to know about the caret height thing as well.  There's a weird bug that I can't reproduce, though it's now apparently borked my caret, at least somewhat.

  1. I selected "clone caret above"
  2. (Caret then goes double thick and is taller than normal.)
  3. I then turn off column selection mode.
  4. (Caret *remains* double thick and tall.)

Weird.  So I did the following.

  1. Went into your registry from within Intellij IDEA.
  2. changed editor.caret.width from 2 to 1
  3. Now caret is now thin again, but still seems too tall.

IntelliJ IDEA 2017.3.4 (Community Edition)

JRE: 1.8.0_152-release-1024-b11 amd64
