This is the perforce status provider trying to find the directory's status and its not able to get any information from the server. Its quite strange that you can checkout files from the directory and still can't get the status of the files in there. Are you able to check them out from inside IDEA ?
could you do a p4 fstat C:/esbe/web-deploy/%1 and see if the directory is recognized by the p4 client ?

Hmm... I guess I will add code to ignore all the files that are outside the project. Till then you can use the "ignore directory" option to remove this error message.
I should note that the files in that directory seem to get sync'd and I can
check them out.
