Column selection mode enhancement
Hi. Currently the column selection mode has to be explicitly toggled on/off before being used. While this can work well under certain circumstances, perhaps it would be better and faster to have a selection mode selector key - e.g. holding down <altgr> while selecting some text would allow one to select columns while not holding down <altgr> will be selecting lines. This works really well in textpad, e, textmate(I think it behaves like this). Thoughts?

You can select the text in column mode by mouse wheel
Really? How do I do that? I tried it but could not get it to work.
Just press the wheel and drag the mouse. Dragging with left mouse button and Alt pressed also works
for me on Windows.
That doesnt work for me ... do you have any specific plugins for this?
Or maybe I have some plugins installed that dont allow this...
BTW I am using 8.1.3.
No idea. Maybe it's really some plugin. Maybe some non-IDEA software or
OS settings.
This is a new feature in InteliJ IDEA Maia since build #10273.
