"Open in opposite group" no longer opens the other pane at the same line number

I just updated to 2024.2.3 from the previous version. I use “open in opposite group” often in my workflow and have it hotkeyed.

Let's say you have the same file already open in both vertical panes. When you would activate “open in opposite group” it would move the opposite pane to the line number you're at in the current pane.

Now it seems this behavior is gone and it will just jump to the top of the file, or it just switches which pane you're working in. This is very unfortunate and was a productivity feature I had grown very accustomed to in PyCharm. I hope this is unintentional and reverts back to the old functionality.
