As of now, we actually do not allow the removal of the widget from the Toolbar – More details here https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/PY-80475/Toolbar-changes-do-not-save
Moving forward from the 2025.2 there is only the unified PyCharm version on our platform but
We’re fully committed to open-source. We’ll keep the open-source parts of the PyCharm codebase on GitHub up to date and open for everyone, and update them regularly. To make it easier for the community, we will provide GitHub Actions so anyone can build their own version from the source code. These builds will include only the open-source parts, just like the original PyCharm Community Edition.
