How to stop structure from expanding automatically
Answered
Since a while ago all my functions and classes under the structure menu are automatically expanded extremely often for no good reason and I have to collapse them manually every single time. This is pretty annoying, if I recall correctly this didn't use to happen to me until it a couple of months ago.
How can I make sure each item in the structur stays collapsed unless I expand them manually or I navigate to source and have "autoscroll from source" active?

I agree completely - it's one of the most annoying UX design decisions I have seen - it's totally killed my workflow productivity. Just awful.
Unless it's a bug, but it seems from reading various posts online that it's this way by design.
So no answer for this from JetBrains? This issue gets more annoying every day.

Really terrible. It is especially terrible in monolith repo 😱
I feel like writing atocollapse plugin 🤷🏽♂️

Andrey Resler maybe I misunderstood the issue.
Whenever I click "Select Opened File" in project structure, the active class is selected and expanded. Unfortunately, in my case there could be hundreds of methods and that structure expanding is really useless. I can't find a way to disable it. Is there a way to do that?
Try disabling "Show members" option shown on the screenshot

Finally! Pretty unexpected naming I must say.
Thank you so much!
The "Show Members" option isn't available in Rider 2020.1
