Subscription Validation error

I had a valid WebStorm subscription that expired recently. I started getting this error in WebStorm's event log. It comes up at least once a day. My colleagues are getting the same error. We are not planning to renew the subscription but we expect to be able to continue to use the current version of WebStorm.

Is the error message not accurate regarding "usage of WebStorm will no longer be possible."? Is there anything I should do in order to stop getting this error (besides renewing the subscription)?

10:32 PM Subscription Validation
Something went wrong with license auto-prolongation.
Please make sure the contract is prolonged until 1/25/2018,
otherwise usage of WebStorm will no longer be possible.

What version are you currently using? Once the subscription expires, you need to downgrade to the IDE version you have a perpetual fallback license for. - it's a major version that was available at the time you purchased the subscription.

During the time of your active subscription, you can use all new releases for your product. If you let the subscription expire and were using a newer version other than the perpetual fallback version you own, the product will stop working (if the subscription does not lapse and is renewed before expiration, nothing will stop). If the subscription expires and you still wish to use the product, you then need to uninstall the newer version and install your perpetual fallback version.

You must have purchased the subscription on January 2017 or December 2016, and Webstorm 2017.3 was released in November, 2017. So you are not permitted to use Webstorm 2017.3 unless you reniew the subscription. You need to download and install Webstorm version you have a a perpetual fallback license for (likely WebStorm 2016.3). Previous webstorm freleases can be downloaded from https://www.jetbrains.com/webstorm/download/previous.html
