Freezes while typing but moving mouse updates screen

Hey there,
Whenever I use PHPStorm or PyCharm I randomly experience freezes while typing. When I just move my cursor around, even by a bit, the screen updates with what ever I typed after the program freezed.
I been experiencing this for a while now but nothing I tried helped solve this issue :(
I'm using Ubuntu 17.10
Hope you guys could help me out here.
