Perforce integration resulting in frequent P4 command dialog pop-ups

Hello,
I'm noticing that in a recent version of IDEA (2017.3.4) I'm seeing very frequent P4 dialog pop-up windows that will flash for a fraction of a second and then disappear. It's tough to read exactly what they say (because they just flash) but it seems to be in regards to P4 and file status or "Retrieving File". This wasn't behavior that I observed in earlier versions of IDEA, and it's really annoying. Is there a setting that I may have inadvertently changed?

I've noticed that the pop-ups have been fewer in the past few days, and I'm wondering if perhaps our Perforce server was acting up. I did manage to capture one in the span of a CPU snapshot.

Thanks for the snapshot. You may try closing all open "File History" tabs as a workaround, that should help.

Thanks for the reporting. I'm observing the same issue with Webstorm 2017.3.5, build #WS-173.4674.32, where the dialog says "Retrieving file <file name>"
Problem is no longer seen with WebStorm 2018.1 build #WS-181.4203.535

According to the linked issue the fix version is 181.4445. I assume that's an unreleased version given that my IJ 2018.1 version is 181.4203.550. I'm definitely still seeing the dialogs flash here and there, generally when a file history tab is open on the version control tab. I did upload another CPU profile: IU-181.4203.550_RDO2_04.04.2018_16.20.41.zip, but seeing the version numbers I think the fix has just not been released yet.
