IntelliJ CE 2017.3.5 keeps crashing on start up

I've recently installed (again) the CE 2017.3.5 and upon starting it up it keeps on crashing making me unable to use the program at all... 

I've tried to reinstall it several times to no avail. I was wondering if anyone was experiencing the same issue? And if anyone has a fix for this..

Installed the previous version CE 2017.3.4 and have no issues there..

Please define "crashing". What specific error do you get?

Does the workaround from https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/v2/issue/IDEA-184029 help?

Under 2017.3.5, when running a JUnit tests without using any build tool (just IDEA's built-in building system), IntelliJ Ultimate stops. The cursor disappears and the IDE freezes.

Rolled back to 2017.3.4, works fine.

Please file a bug at https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issues/IDEA with the logs and the thread dumps attached (https://intellij-support.jetbrains.com/hc/articles/207241085, https://intellij-support.jetbrains.com/hc/articles/206544899). Your problem is not related.
