"Analyze - data flow from/to here" option is grayed out

Hi,
I am using Community edition IDEA 2017.3.5 version. When trying to check data flow, find out that " Analyze dataflow to/from here" options are grayed out.
Any idea what could be done to fix this?

You need to place the caret to a corresponding variable/parameter/field in Java code, see Analyzing Data Flow.
