Typing comments in JS, PHP , and JSP files maxes out my CPU

Hi ,

Love your product, I actually convinced my company to buy intellij licenses about 2 years ago. But lately I've been getting really frustrated because simply typing a comment in js, php, or jsp file eats up about 80% of my CPU . When I run my tomcat server and try to make edits , Intellij becomes practically unusable.  

I'm on a Windows 10 Pro, i7-7500U @ 2.9GHZ  CPU,  and 16GB Ram

Please help as its stunting my development process and preventing me to get my job done.

Do you face the same problem if you enable "File | Power Save Mode"? Do you use any antivirus software?

Hi Yaroslav ,

Thanks for the reply. I was running Windows Defender but disabled runtime protection . I did not have any other antivirus installed. 

I had to get a new computer with more cores to get Intellij to work with my project. I was on a dual core i7 processor before. Once switching to quad core everything seems to work smoothly. 

 

I will have my our IT staff take a look at my old computer if enabling "Power Save Mode" helps. Thanks
