Editor keeps stealing focus
Answered
Argh.. It's driving me quite insane the past few days
The issue is I do something like control+shift+f to find a file, but while typing the file name, the focus is turned back to the editor, and it since I type quite fast, and have IdeaVIM plugin I usually screw up something in the source file.
I have to undo (which is annoying, how many times to press undo? did I undo all the crap??)
Then I control+shift_f again, and type SUPER SLOW . So I already tried putting this to the VM settings:
-DactionSystem.xWindow.remove.focus.from.nonFocusable.popups=false
And also I'm using this feature that puts the mouse pointer centered on the popup automatically.. is there anything else that I can try?
The version I use is 2018.01. The previous one was 2017.3 and 2017.3.4. Since the new version got a bit better at parsing my code base (which might be why it became a bit slower), so I'd rather not go back to the old version.
Kind regards,
Ray

Hi! Please temporary disable the IdeaVIM plugin and check whether the problem is reproducible without it. If it is, please update CLion to 2018.1.2 and, if the problem persists, create an issue in the platform's tracker: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issues/IDEA.
UPD: maybe it's somehow related to https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-188824.
Alright, seems like it could be the same as I'm also using i3. Thanks, I will try the suggestions and update here if I have a fix
Thanks again for your quick response, your link pointed me to a workaround in one of the comments there...
The workaround to use the jre from 2017.3 with 2018.1, seems to make the problem go away
The first blog post I've seen was dated 2004. So it's been 16 (sixteen) years fixing this bug.
