My style.css file isn't always recompiled after style.scss is saved
At least once a day I have to delete the contents of the style.css file in order to get it to recompile. How can I fix this?

Please try invalidating caches once the issue occurs(File/Invalidate caches, Invalidate and restart) - does it help? If it doesn't, please check if enabling 'trigger watcher regardless of syntax errors' option makes any difference.
