Disabling vertical diff lines in right margin

How do I disable the vertical coloured lines in the right margin showing added / removed lines? I've highlighted them below. I can't seem to find the setting anywhere.

I would also like to know. There is this option in General::Other::Highlight modified lines in gutter but only affect lines in the left gutter.

Also, why is this information displayed in both sides (left and right)?
