Unable to connect Bitbucket with Intellij

Please clarify what exactly is not working? 

Do you mean that some code you wrote for a plugin cannot connect?

I am not sure what exactly this description means.

There used to be the specific plugin to provide integration with BitBucket - Atlassian Connector, but AFAIK it has been deprecated.

There is no built-in integration with Bitbucket in IntelliJ, but it is possible to clone/push/pull there using Git Integration. Vote for https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-88198
