Hi 847618155,

Thank you for contacting PyCharm support.

What is your OS?

What action is on alt+f4 in PyCharm?

Looking forward to your reply.

Kind regards,

Sergey

Thanks for the information.

Please try Esc, it should bring you back to editor.

If you would like to jump back to the editor when hit alt+4, then please feel free to submit a feature request about it to our issue tracker using the link https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issues/IDEA and please let us know if you need any help.

Kind regards,

Sergey

In IntelliJ IDEA,

I can jump back to the editor when hit alt+4.

But why It can't work  in PyCharm?

And it's too troublesome to  submit a feature request using the link  https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issues/IDEA and and describe my request.

Hi, which IntelliJ version do you use? It doesn't bring the caret back to the editor in 2018.2.4 for me with Alt-4.
