Please try Esc, it should bring you back to editor.

In IntelliJ IDEA,
I can jump back to the editor when hit alt+4.
But why It can't work in PyCharm?
And it's too troublesome to submit a feature request using the link https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issues/IDEA and and describe my request.
Hi, which IntelliJ version do you use? It doesn't bring the caret back to the editor in 2018.2.4 for me with Alt-4.
