Feature Request: Multiple Terminals with Multiple Shells Follow
Answered
Hi
I am in a M$ environment and I would like to have multiple shells to choose from when opening terminals. For example, I have PowerShell as my default, but I'd like to also run GetBash in another tab.
Is this possible?
Thanks.

Hi Richard,
Thank you for contacting PyCharm support.
You can create several sessions in the terminal https://stackoverflow.com/questions/33806481/how-to-open-two-terminal-windows-in-intellij-idea-pycharm?answertab=votes#tab-top
It is also possible to add External Tools https://www.jetbrains.com/help/pycharm/settings-tools-external-tools.html
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Kind regards,
Sergey

Sergey,
Thanks for your response,
I am aware of how to open up additional terminal tabs, but this is not what I was asking. What I am asking is to be able to open Git BASH as an embedded terminal tab in PyCharm. VSCode already has this feature, but does not have a good enough Python environment. I would like PyCharm to have the same feature when it comes to multiple embedded terminals.
Thank you,
rjwiii
Thanks for the clarification.
Should be possible to do on Windows as shown here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AEZxyND_79s
This is the only way to do that at the moment and there is no plugin or something like that.
Please feel free to submit a feature request about it to our issue tracker using the link https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issues/PY and please let us know if you need any help.
Kind regards,

Sergey,
I think that's still not what Richard was asking in his original post. I'm facing a similar dilemma; I want to open Git Bash in one tab, and PowerShell in another. This currently doesn't seem possible, but I was wondering if this was already a feature request under consideration?
Thanks,
Sven Luijten
Hi Sven,
You are right. I misunderstood back in October 2018 :)
I couldn't find such a feature request so please feel free to submit one to https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issues/IDEA
