Installing more than one version of intelliJ

Hi, is it possible to have more than one version of intellij installed on a single mac simultaneously? If so, are there any "best practices" or similar?
A user is requesting the latest version, but also wanted to keep his existing one in case something does not work in the new version so he can roll back on that.

Hello,
Yes, it's possible to have several major versions installed (e.g. 2018.2 and 2018.1). There are no special instructions. You could install them as is and they'll use different folders to keep configuration information.
