Clicking window focuses, but doesn't position cursor
Answered
I use IntelliJ on Linux and have a problem when focusing the IJ window by mouse click. When I click on the unfocused window I would expect it to become focused and the cursor to be positioned where I clicked. But the window is only focused, the cursor remains where it was when the window lost focus, so I have to click twice. This behavior is different from all other programs I'm aware of, and is quite irritating. I keep typing where I don't want to type :-)
I looked through the settings and didn't find a way to turn this off. Did I miss it or is this not possible?

Hi. it sounds like https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-194124, are you using i3?
No, that's a different bug. The caret doesn't vanish for me, it stays where it was. The bug is that it isn't placed where I clicked to focus.
I'm using Cinnamon WM and IntelliJ Community 2018.1.6
Could you please provide a video capture of the problem?
Here's a true low-fi recording :-) I'm starting out with the cursor in the left IJ editor, then switch to a text editor, then return focus to the IJ window by clicking in the right editor. But the cursor stays in the left IJ editor and doesn't move to where I clicked in the right editor. I repeat this once, and then click the right editor when the IJ window has focus - that's the behavior I'd expect right away.

Thank you, it sounds more like https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-199755
Hi, has this been resolved? I'm also using PyCharm on Linux Mint and it's driving me nuts.
It's still under investigation. Please follow the issue on YouTrack: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-199755
