Java - won't load the project on MAC

I created a bit of code with a window and a canvas, with all height, width, and color variables created. However, when I run my project, my screen looks like this.
I'm on a MAC, and coding in Java. Is there any possible solution so that it runs my code correctly and has a black screen?
