IDEA - Recommended virus checker configuration and exclusions
I am in large corporate site, where another team controls the deployment and configuration of the various virus checker software packages that run on developer laptops.
I have a high spec Dell laptop, but suffer from very slow performance. I suspect the virus checkers are a factor. The team that manages our virus checker configuration/exclusions refuse to modify the configuration until I get a recommendation from the software vendor (Jet Brains) regarding which files/folders/processes should be excluded from real time virus checking. Can you please provide a link to this information or provide the information.
I am using IDEA and OS config:
- IntelliJ IDEA 2018.3.5 (Ultimate Edition)
- Build #IU-183.5912.21, built on February 26, 2019
- Licensed to XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

- JRE: 1.8.0_152-release-1343-b28 amd64
- JVM: OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM by JetBrains s.r.o
- Windows 10 10.0
Languages we are primarily using:
- Java
- js

You should normally exclude IDE's installation folder (and subfolders), IDE's configuration, caches, logs and plugins folders (see https://intellij-support.jetbrains.com/hc/en-us/articles/206544519-Directories-used-by-the-IDE-to-store-settings-caches-plugins-and-logs) and project directory.
