Stuck with Update Branches Info

For some time, Idea is constantly running backgroud task Update Branches Info..., unless I manually kill it it never stops. Whats worse, if I do any other Git operation, fetch for example, is it stuck untill this update finishes which never does.

I tried updating Idea to latest version via Toolbox and Invalidate cache / restart, and even reinstalled Git entirelly but nothing helps. Is there anything I can do?
