pycharm not recognizing jupyter notebook

Answered

Hi all,

I have installed Pycharm 2019.1 and the python version is 3.6.4 (running on windows)

I have installed jupyter as part of the project interpreter and still pycharm doesn't recognize .ipynb file I have in the project folder.

I can't even open new .ipynb file

Please help me.

BR,

Aviv Shamsian

Hi,

Is it a PyCharm Professional or Community edition?
Community edition doesn't support Jupyter Notebook. In case you are using Professional one, make sure all the required plugins are enabled.

JetBrains PyCharm Community Edition 2018.3.2 x64 is this edition supports jupyter notebook?

When will the community edition support jupyter notebook as well?

in that case, I have reported before that JetBrains PyCharm Community Edition 2018.3.2 x64 often crashes when using matplotlib (I think it was you who suggested me to upgrade to 2019 edition) and I want to use pychram with jupyter notebook, what are my possibilities?

No, it doesn't support Jupyter Notebook.

It won't.

The latest Community edition version supporting Jupyter Notebook is 2018.3, so you can either use this older version or buy a license for Professional edition and use our new Jupyter Notebook support.

OK thank you for your help.

What about the crashing problem of 2018.3.2 edition?

If it's only this particular version that is crashing, then just use 2018.3.6.

If the crashes continue, report it to https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issues/PY and attach your logs folder zipped from Help | Compress Logs and Show in..., we will investigate it.
