Laptop for IDEA

Answered

Hi Guys i am looking for a new laptop that i can use for coding. I am looking into a chromebook. the idea is a nice cheap laptop i can use when away from my desktop. it is more to write the code so i dont think i need a particularly beefy cpu for that kind of stuff (Please correct) me if i am wrong.

Will the ASUS Chromebook Flip C434TA cut it? i was looking at getting a macbook but they are like double the price. i know that chromebooks now support linux applications and i can check to see if JRE's will run (I have a weaker one) but it doesnt have an x86 chip so i cant check the performance can someone advise?

Many Thanks

You'll need a lot of RAM for IntelliJ IDEA and your apps. If you plan to buy a laptop, I'd recommend at least 8GB or higher option.

If ASUS Flip can run Linux and Java apps, IntelliJ IDEA should work fine there. Go for the higher specs option if possible.
