UltraVNC generates CTRL CTRL when it shouldn't (and other less obvious issues)

I'm using UltraVNC x64 from Windows 10 to work on Ubuntu and Windows 10 systems.  It has been working fine for years (I switched from RealVNC a long time ago), but using it with PhpStorm (native on Ubuntu) is driving me nuts.  The biggest problem is that it's generating multiple CTRL keystrokes unless I'm very careful, and even sometimes then.  So I'm getting to the Run Anything window when I don't want to.

I'm making this a Community post to get recommendations.  I can't see a way to configure UltraVNC better, and I don't see any relevant preferences in PhpStorm.  What are people using for VNC to a system running PhpStorm?  TigerVNC seems to be the current favorite.  Are PhpStorm users happy with it, or are there better choices?

Thanks!

While this doesn't address the issue with RealVNC key-hold handler, you can go to Keymap, find "Run Anything" action and assign some shortcut to it. This way it won't pop up on a Ctrl+Ctrl

Hi Dmitry.  I'm not having a lot of success adding a shortcut for Run Anything (but I'm not finding Keymap easy to set up anyway).  But I did find that TigerVNC works better than UltraVNC for some things.
