Parameter hints causes lock-up

I'm having an issue in ultimate 2019.2.3 and 2019.3 EAP on macOs Mojave where I'm writing a method call, then hit `cmd-p` to get the parameter hints popup, and then I can usually type a couple of characters and then my keyboard completely locks up and I can't do anything. To get it working again, I have to hit escape to close the parameter hints and then continue on as normal.

I've tried disabling all my plugins and it doesn't seem to help at all. It affects me in both java and kotlin projects, but I haven't tried anything else.

Any ideas?
