How to set the same keymap in Windows and Linux?
Answered
Simple enough, but I haven't figured that out. At work, I have a Windows laptop and it uses the default keymap. At home, I have a Linux Mint laptop and I tried several keymaps, but I really can't get the same "feel" to it. I know some people are quite good at their key shortcuts skills, I'm not one of those and rely on mouse interaction quite often.
It's not only relating to the shortcuts 'Ctrl+Y' for removing a line and 'Ctrl+D' for duplicating a line but, also, when I switch windows or open files in my Linux Mint box the cursor is always the "replace" and I have to press the Insert key for it to change to the | like insert cursor.
How do I solve this "issue"?

There can not be exactly same keymap for different Linux and Windows. These platforms are too different. You can remap certain actions in Keymap preferences though if you want.

Do you have IdeaVim plugin installed and Tools | VIM Emulator mode enabled?
