Completing html auto complete blank page

Hey,

Been trying to find a way to complete a blank html page when I write html then hit tab but it seems to only be working when I press ctrl+space then choose HTML5.

Any way of changing this? An overall link to how to treat every tag will be appreciated.

html:5 is a live template, you might wanna press Ctrl+J (Cmd+J for macOS) before entering html to get it expanded.
(I hope that I got you right)

So since it is a live template I can not write html then hit tab so it will be the template instead of the html tag?

Unfortunately, no, because it conflicts with tag completion. Another way to work that around apart from the one I posted above is to enter html:5 and then hit Tab.
