selecting result from find results only goes to top of the file

Hi,
I could not find this problem (maybe user-error) anywhere, so asking here.
When I double click a selection from my results from doing a "Find in path" it will open the relevant file, but not at the
line that the find matched. This is only on my newly installed system. On other systems the selection will jump directly
to the file and specific line number.
Is there some obscure setting I am missing? or maybe a bug?
I'm running on OSX and version 2019.3

Is it actual for all (even HelloWorld!) projects? Do you see the cursor in your case? Is it at the file's beginning? Is it possible to share a screencast demonstrating the issue?
Of course, this issue is suddenly not happening now that I sat down to see if I can reproduce in a small hello world project. I will keep an eye out for it,
and repost here if I can learn more and hopefully consistently reproduce. I did restart intellij between now and my original post, so wondering if there
is some set of steps to end up in that state and I just haven't done it yet.
