Pycharm and Synergy Keyboard issues

Synergy: 1.1.1-stable, Keyboard and mouse sharing

Pycharm: Latest Profession or Community: 2020.1 and earlier, MAC Version

Windows 10 is Server for Keyboard/Mouse

MAC 10.15.4 Catalina is slave on Keyboard and mouse

Issue:

   1) Keyboard access in in Pycharm stops(you can type characters but nothing happens)

   2) Mouse selection OK, but copy and paste can be hit or miss

Workaround: Click in a Mac OS command window with a direct attached Mac OS mouse then back in Pycharm, Keyboard access returns. Note I see a small spinner in lower left of Pycharm window and keyboard access is returned until I click or switch windows out of Pycharm 

Clicking is a Win10 window and back yo Mac OS Pycharm - No issue

Synergy is aware of the issue, but no fix so far

Looking for better understanding of what is happening or if there is a better workaround by disabling a something is Pycharm
